Overriding the order
The board is a recommendation, not an instruction. Send whoever you like wherever you like — but the rule above is what the order was built from, so if you are about to skip the top of the list it is worth knowing which line you are skipping.
The one place the board and the phone disagree is travel. Okonkwo is nearest to four of these and free in fifteen minutes; Skarda is free now but twelve minutes further from Canal Park. That trade is yours, and the board deliberately does not make it for you.
The line people argue with
A stopped escalator never outranks a stopped lift, however long it has been down, because there are stairs beside it. That is line five, and it is line five on purpose.
It is also why number one on the board came in five minutes ago and number six has been sitting since Monday afternoon. Number six is in the right place: the staff took the car out of use themselves and are using the stairs.
