Five questions, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Can you work around allergies and dietary restrictions?
Tell us when you book and we will tell you honestly what we can do that week. The menu is written on Tuesday and shopped on Wednesday, so a restriction we know about early is usually easy. We do not promise to accommodate everything — some weeks are built around one ingredient, and if that is the one you cannot eat we will offer you a different week rather than cook you something we are not proud of.
Is there a vegetarian version of the menu?
Every week, and it is written at the same time as the main menu rather than adapted from it. Four courses, same price. Ask for it when you book so we buy for it.
Do you take walk-ins?
Rarely, and only at the bar. Thirty-two seats and a set menu means we buy for the number of people booked, so a walk-in is genuinely a matter of whether we happen to have food. It is always worth ringing at five to ask.
How far ahead should I book?
Bookings open four weeks out. Saturdays go in the first few days, Wednesdays are usually available the same week. If you want a particular week's menu you will have to wait until Tuesday night to see it, by which point that week is mostly gone — most people book the date and take the menu as it comes.
Can we book the whole room?
Yes, on a Wednesday or Thursday for the full night, or any night for the second seating only. The menu that week is still the menu that week; we will talk it through with you beforehand, and we will not write a separate one.
