How much is a tow?

Ninety-five dollars to hook up plus five fifty a mile for a normal car, measured from where you are to where it is going rather than from our yard. Sixty-five more between ten at night and six in the morning, and all day Sunday. Every other rate is on the prices page.

What is the hook fee?

The charge for putting your vehicle on the truck, which is most of the work and all of the equipment. It is charged once. If you ring and cancel before we leave, there is no charge at all.

How long until you get here?

Twenty to forty minutes across most of the state, longer in bad weather when everybody rings at once. Dispatch will give you a real number, and will ring you if it changes rather than leaving you standing on a shoulder.

What does storage cost per day?

Sixty-five dollars a day after the first free twenty-four hours, dropping to forty-five after ten days. It is on this site because storage is where people in this trade get hurt, and almost nobody publishes it.

Do you take insurance directly?

Accepted Answer

We will bill an insurer when they have authorised the tow in advance, which most will over the phone while we are with you. We are not on any insurer's approved list and we are not going to imply otherwise. If they will not authorise it, you pay us and claim it back.

What if I cancel after I have called?

Accepted Answer

Nothing if we have not left. Fifty-five if the truck is on the road. Ninety-five if it is on scene, because at that point the work is done. Ring dispatch the moment your friend with a jump pack turns up and it usually costs nothing.
