Mostly about insurance, which is fair enough.
- Do you accept insurance?
- Yes, for medical dermatology — screenings, acne, eczema, biopsies, and surgical removal. We are in network with most major Arizona plans; call with your plan name and we will confirm before you book rather than after. Cosmetic treatments are not covered by any insurance and are priced at consultation.
- Is a referral required?
- That depends on your plan, not on us. HMO plans generally require a referral from your primary care physician; PPO plans generally do not. If you are unsure, call your insurer's member services number — it is on the back of your card — or call us and we will look at it with you.
- What should I bring?
- Your insurance card, a photo ID, a list of current medications and supplements, and the names of any skin products or previous treatments you have used. If you are coming about a specific spot, it helps to know roughly when you first noticed it.
- Are cosmetic treatments covered?
- No. Peels, laser resurfacing, and injectables are cosmetic and are not covered by insurance, and any clinic that tells you otherwise is billing something incorrectly. You will have a written price before anything is scheduled.
- How can I request an appointment?
- Use the appointment form on this site, or call (480) 555-0103. New patients are usually seen within two to three weeks; if you have a spot that is changing, bleeding, or new, say so when you call and we will bring you in sooner.
