The day
Eight hours, and only five of them are polishing.
This is a single stage correction. A two stage is the same shape over two days, with the long stretch roughly doubled.
7:30
Walk round, with a light
Under a proper inspection light, together, before anything happens. This is where I tell you which defects are coming out and which are staying, and it is written on the sheet you sign.
8:00
Wash and decontamination
Two buckets, then iron remover, then clay. Ninety minutes, and none of it is the interesting part. Correcting dirty paint grinds the dirt into it.
9:30
Paint depth readings
Measured, not guessed. Clear coat is finite and a resprayed panel often has less than you would hope. If a panel is thin, it does not get corrected, and I will show you the number.
10:00
Test section
One panel, one combination of pad and polish, checked under the light. This decides the approach for the whole car and it is worth the hour it takes.
11:00
Correction
The long stretch. Panel by panel, checked as it goes. Five or six hours on a single stage, most of two days on a two stage.
16:00
Protection and final check
Sealant or coating, glass, trim, wheels. Then the same light, the same walk round, and the sheet from the morning next to the car.
16:30
Keys back, and the aftercare card
Two buckets, a grit guard, a clean mitt, no automatic washes. Coatings need twenty-four hours dry before rain, and if it is forecast we will have told you at booking.
