How much is a single room?

Four thousand eight hundred dollars, fixed, agreed before anything starts. That covers the plan, the furniture layout, elevations, colour and materials, lighting, and the source list. It does not cover buying anything — procurement is separate and entirely optional.

Do I have to buy through you?

Accepted Answer

No, and about half of clients do not. The source list has the item, the price, the size, the lead time, and where to get it, and it is yours. Procurement is twelve percent if you would rather somebody else chased the lead times and dealt with a damaged delivery.

What do I actually receive?

Drawings and a source list, on paper and as files. The deliverables page lists all six. You own them — most studios keep the source list so you cannot leave, and we would rather you came back for the next room because the last one worked.

Question 4

How long does a room take?

About six weeks to design, which is not the same as six weeks to finish. Lead times on upholstery run twelve to twenty weeks and that is the real calendar. The design is done long before the sofa arrives.

Question 5

Will you work with my contractor?

Accepted Answer

Yes, gladly, and it goes better when they are involved early. What we will not do is manage them — that is a general contractor's job and pretending otherwise is how projects go wrong.

Question 6

Can you help me not ruin an original kitchen?

That is more or less the whole practice. Most 1958 kitchens can be made to work with new appliances, a different worktop, and leaving the cabinets alone. The consultation exists partly for this — two hours and a written note, and quite often the recommendation is to spend far less than you were about to.
