How is the quote calculated?

From a survey — twenty-five minutes on video or an hour in person — which produces an inventory with cubic feet against every room. The price comes from that. If we have not seen inside your closets we have not surveyed your move, and a company quoting from a bedroom count is guessing.

Is it binding?

Yes, for sixty days, and the only five things that can change it are published on this site with a price against each. Stairs nobody mentioned is the common one. There is no sixth thing and nothing gets added on the driveway.

What makes the price change on the day?

Stairs, a long carry, items added since the survey, a shuttle where the truck cannot reach, and waiting more than half an hour for a lift or a key. That is the whole list and each has a figure. Most moves have none of them.

How big is the delivery window on a long distance move?

Days, not weeks. Denver to Salt Lake is usually two; Denver to Seattle is four to seven. It is our truck and our crew from your door to your door, so nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a load going the same way.

What is not covered?

Basic liability is sixty cents a pound by law, which on a television is almost nothing — full value protection is what you actually want and it is quoted separately. We will explain both before you book rather than at the door. Plants, hazardous materials, and anything perishable do not travel.

Question 6

Do you take a deposit?

Ten percent when you book, refundable up to a week before. Nobody here will ring to tell you a date is about to go, and if a company does that to you it is worth walking away.
