The survey
Open the closets. Everything you do not show becomes a change on the day.
That is not a threat, it is arithmetic. A quote is a measurement of volume, and volume you did not show cannot be in it.
- 01
A video walk-through, or a visit
Twenty-five minutes on a video call, or an hour in person if you would rather. Open the closets and the garage — everything you do not show becomes a change on the day.
- 02
An inventory you can read
Room by room, item by item, with cubic feet. You get it in writing and you can correct it.
- 03
A binding price
One number, valid for sixty days. Not an estimate, not a range, and not a per-hour figure that grows.
- 04
The list of what can change it
Five things, all on this site, all with a price against them. Nothing else can move the number.
- 05
A deposit only when you book
Ten percent, refundable up to a week before. Nobody will ring you to say the date is going.
How to spot a quote that is not a quote
- It came from a bedroom count over the phone, with nobody looking at anything.
- It is a range rather than a number.
- The word binding does not appear anywhere in writing.
- Somebody asks for a large deposit today because the date is going.
- The company that quotes is not the company whose truck arrives.
All five are common and the last one is the one that costs people thousands. Ask any mover, including us, who is actually driving.
