Five answers, including the one about what we do not certify.
- Which materials do you accept?
- Ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, obsolete IT equipment, office furniture, surplus industrial assets, and cable. There is also a firm list of what we do not take — hazardous waste, batteries, lamps, refrigerant-bearing equipment, medical material, and unlabelled containers. We are not a permitted hazardous-waste handler and will refuse those at the dock rather than at the gate.
- Is there a minimum volume?
- It varies by material: 1,000 lb for ferrous, 200 lb for non-ferrous, 100 lb for cable, ten units for IT equipment, and roughly half a truckload for furniture. Below those thresholds the trip costs more than the material returns, and we would rather tell you that than send a truck and invoice you for it.
- How is pricing determined?
- Scrap is priced against published market indices on the day we weigh it, with grades listed separately on the ticket. Surplus assets are valued on resale potential rather than weight, and quoted after a site assessment. Furniture usually carries a service fee because moving it costs more than it returns — we will say so up front.
- Which areas do you serve?
- New Jersey, New York City, and eastern Pennsylvania. Outside that footprint the transport cost makes us the wrong choice, and we will tell you so rather than quoting it.
- What documentation is provided?
- A site assessment note, a signed collection manifest, a certified weight ticket, and a settlement statement showing the index price and date used. A downstream summary naming which qualified partner received each material stream is available on request. To be explicit: that summary is a record of where material went, not a certificate of recycling or of data destruction, neither of which we issue.
