What does the diagnostic cost?

A hundred and ten dollars, flat, anywhere in Davidson or Williamson county. It covers a proper look — not a glance and a guess — and a written recommendation. If you go ahead with the repair, it comes off the bill.

Is it credited if I go ahead?

Yes, in full. And if the repair would cost more than half of a comparable replacement, we tell you so, you owe the hundred and ten, and nothing else. That rule costs us work every week and it is why people ring us for the next appliance.

Which brands do you work on?

Accepted Answer

Every mainstream American and Korean brand and the common European ones. We are not factory authorised by any of them — half the companies in this town claim to be and it is worth asking them to show you. What we have is parts accounts and twenty years of the same machines.

How long do parts take?

Accepted Answer

Common failures — pumps, elements, belts, igniters — are on the van. Control boards and sealed system parts are four to ten days, and the costs page says which is which so you know before you commit.

When is it not worth repairing?

When the repair is more than half of a comparable new machine, which the costs page lets you work out yourself before you ring. Bearings in a washer and a compressor in an older refrigerator are the two that usually fail that test.

Do you offer a warranty on the work?

One year on the part and the labour, in writing. If the same fault comes back inside that, we come back and there is no second diagnostic fee.
