What is the day rate on a skid steer?

Two hundred and eighty-five dollars for the wheeled skid steer, three hundred and forty-five for the track loader. Both take our attachments, and pallet forks are free on a week or a month. Every other rate in the yard is on the rates page — nobody has to ring for a price here.

Do you deliver, and what does that cost?

Yes. Ninety-five dollars each way inside fifteen miles, a hundred and sixty-five out to forty. Beyond that ring us. The driver rings twenty minutes out, and if nobody is on site to take it we will leave it where you told us to on the reservation and not before.

Do I need my own insurance?

Accepted Answer

You need something. Most contractors already carry equipment cover and most farm policies extend to rented machinery — ring your agent and ask, because it is usually cheaper than our waiver. If you have nothing, the waiver is twelve percent and it covers accidental damage only.

What happens if I bring it back muddy?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. Mud is the job. What costs is set concrete, manure, and anything ground into a cab, and the counter will tell you at pickup which of those apply to your job so it is not a surprise at the end.

Can I rent for a half day?

Accepted Answer

No, and I would rather say so than pretend. A machine that goes out at noon does not come back in time to go out again, so a half day costs us a full one. Day rates run twenty-four hours from pickup, so an afternoon start gets you the next morning too.

Question 6

Do you rent to homeowners or only contractors?

Accepted Answer

Both. About a third of what leaves the yard goes to somebody doing one job at their own house. The counter will spend ten minutes showing you the controls and will tell you honestly if a machine is the wrong one for what you described.
