The building
A mill that cut limestone until 1974.
The walls are the stone it cut, the crane rail is still across the north end, and the doors are wide enough to drive a truck through — which is the single most useful thing about the place if you are loading in a band or a caterer.
- Main hall
- The mill floor. Limestone walls, steel roof trusses, and the original crane rail across the north end, which is where a stage or a ceremony goes.
- Side room
- Off the east wall, with its own door. Forty at rounds or sixty in rows. Breakout sessions, a green room, or a rehearsal dinner.
- Courtyard
- Gravel, walled, lights already strung. April to October, and there is no cover — a wet-weather plan is not optional here.
- The yard
- About ninety cars. Ground-level load-in through the mill doors with no steps and no lift, which vendors notice immediately.
A day, hour by hour
“Full day hire” means nothing until somebody writes down which hours. These are ours, and the last one is firm.

- 13:00Room setWhichever layout you booked. A second layout change mid-day is possible and is planned in advance.

- 23:00Music offCity noise ordinance, not our rule. It has never moved.
- 23:15Guests outFifteen minutes, and the coordinator will make it happen gently.
- 00:00Building clearEverything of yours out. This is the one hard edge in the day.
In the rate
- The main hall for the whole day, 8am to midnight
- Eighteen round tables, twelve six-foot trestles, and 320 chairs
- A 16 by 12 foot modular stage, set wherever you want it
- Ground-level load-in through the mill doors, no steps and no lift
- House lighting on dimmers, and blackout on the north windows
- One coordinator for the building, on site the whole day
- Setup and clear-out hours — not billed separately, because they are your day
- Parking for about 90 cars in the yard, and street parking after six
Yours to arrange
- Catering. Bring anyone. We take no percentage and there is no list to pay to leave.
- Bar service and licence. Your caterer or a licensed bar company handles it.
- Linen, glassware, and china. Your caterer usually brings these.
- Sound engineering. The stage has power and hanging points; the desk is yours.
- Decoration and flowers. Nothing may be fixed to the limestone.
- Overnight storage. The building has to be clear by midnight.
