Five, and two of them are about time.
- What is actually included in the day rate?
- The hall from 8am to midnight, all the tables and chairs, the stage, house lighting, ground-level load-in, parking, and a coordinator for the building on site the whole day. Setup and clear-out are inside those hours rather than billed on top, which is the part most people are comparing when they ring round.
- Can we bring our own caterer and bar?
- Yes, and this is the thing we are most firm about. There is no preferred list, no fee to use somebody who is not on it, and we take no percentage of what you spend on food or drink. The bar needs to be run by somebody licensed — your caterer or a bar company — and we will want their certificate a fortnight out.
- How many people fit?
- It depends entirely on the layout: 180 in rows, 140 at round tables of eight, 320 standing. Those are seating layouts we have actually run in this room, not fire-code occupancy figures. If your number is close to one of those edges, come and stand in the building — it answers the question faster than we can.
- Where does everyone park?
- About ninety cars in the yard, plus street parking on Rogers and the surrounding blocks, which is free after six and at weekends. For a full standing show that is not enough and people will walk a few minutes, so it is worth saying so on your invitation rather than letting them find out.
- What time do we have to be out?
- Music off at eleven, guests out by quarter past, and the building clear of everything of yours by midnight. The eleven o'clock is the city's noise ordinance rather than our preference and it does not move. Midnight is ours, and it is the one hard edge in the day because the crew reset the room the next morning.
Every capacity on this site is a seating layout we have run in this room. None of them is a fire-code occupancy figure, and the two are not the same thing.
